Our Better Life Care Packages have seen massive success since we launched them early in 2020. This was in response to seeing our clients struggle to understand their care costs, so we created bundles that offer them a range of services within set hours, so they only have to pay once per month.
Following the positive reaction to this, we’ve been listening to our customers and realised that there is a demand for something extra.
With covid-19 dominating much of this year, and seeing the impact on residents in care homes, this has meant many of our clients who might be eligible for round the clock care are not keen on moving into a nursing home, being isolated from loved ones and unable to receive visits. They also feel more at risk of infection when in such close proximity to other residents who may have been in hospital.
Keen to keep people in their homes as long as possible, we felt we had to act.
That’s why we’ve been working on another package that is designed for people who need 24/7 care provision in mind. This includes people with dementia, people who are too frail to be left on their own and those requiring end of life care.
The care will consist of teams of staff attending them in three eight-hour shifts.
The advantages for clients will be:
- They can stay in their own homes where they feel safe
- They will get to know the people looking after them
- Their families can get to know the carers too
- The carers we employ have a range of specialisms including medication management, personal care, dementia care and palliative care. This means that however a person’s condition changes, we will be able to handle it.
- They can isolate more safely.
This is also great for care employees who don’t drive – Many great employees are unable to take up our usual home care roles because of all the travel that’s involved, but with the 24-hour package, they can complete their whole shift in one location.
