Interview with Our Latest Franchisee: Tracy Martin

Meet Our Latest Franchisee to join the Apollo family: Tracy from Apollo Southport

We love it when a new franchisee comes on board. Not just because we get to expand the reach of our quality, person-centred care provision, but because we are allowing individuals to go solo and design their own future.

The right kind of people. That is to say, Apollo is not an opportunity limited to people with an abundance of cash stashed away ready to invest.

We prefer to welcome people from all backgrounds who want to make a difference in the care sector. This is proven by the fact that several of our own employees have made the transition into business ownership thanks to Apollo’s franchise package, including our latest franchise to get up and running: Apollo Southport.

We caught up with Tracy, who started her Apollo journey as an assistant manager with Apollo Wirral. Working in the company gave her a real insight into our values and ethos. Knowing this was where she wanted to be, after two years, she decided she was ready to take on the challenge of running her own franchise.

Tracy from Southport

On what it is about Apollo she loves most, Tracy affirms that: “I really love that in every aspect, the clients’ needs and care always comes first.”

Tracy felt 2019 was as good a time as ever to push herself out of her comfort zone since her children are grown up now, freeing her up to develop professionally in an area she is “truly passionate about”.

Apollo Southport is still in its infancy, and as such, she’s not yet had a full taste of being her own boss. However, the setting up of Apollo has already brought with it many lessons regarding the administrative side of being a business owner. She’s also had to learn patience and contain her excitement as a result of the time a franchise requires to get up and running. Despite the paperwork involved and the long wait, she’s benefitted from a great deal of guidance from the Franchise Support Team.

The registering of my business is a long process but the training is very good and the staff at head office are great there is always somebody to answer questions and help with anything I need.

Southport is unchartered territory for Apollo, so it seemed like the ideal location for Tracy to move into after seeking advice from Apollo MD and founder Cheryl White.

I am looking forward to getting my business established and having my own team and bringing the best care to Southport.

Sometimes those closest to us can be an obstacle when we are making drastic changes to our life. This is because they want to protect us. Fortunately, this is not the case for Tracy, who has had a lot of encouragement from the people she loves most.

My partner has been very supportive and helps me financially and my sister works for Cheryl so has been a great help.

Commenting on the support she has received from Apollo, she is emphatic.

Great support, there is always somebody available to help me if I need it, and anything I am unsure about I just need to ring head office.
